The "Beecher &
Wawrukiewicz" books are the primary United States postal rate
references.
Beecher, deceased, researched
original sources to assemble information that had been largely ignored. Prior
to his passing, Beecher passed on the project to Anthony S. Wawrukiewicz, who
took on the task with tremendous vigor and stamina -- he was to need
it!
The Domestic rate book was the first
to appear; it has been since superceded with a much expanded second edition. If
you own the first edition and find it useful, you must obtain the second
edition -- you will be amazed at the amount of additional information
included.
The International rate book is a
masterwork in an subject that can be extremely complex. In addition to the
"outbound" rates, an appendix lists the standard inbound rates from all the
countries of the world to the U.S.! No collector of U.S. postal history should
be without this book.
